Less than 2 days to go, I'm incredibly excitied. I pretty much finished packing last night. All a really have left to do is get my money together and organize all the notes I've taken. Can't wait!
PEbs, here is Steve's "London List" VERY late, but better that than never:
I keep forgetting to get my London document for your pal! :( Please let your friend know that there are 2 recommendations for London that are must-do's, IMO.
One is tea (in am, midday or proper tea time - I went on a few mornings when I was there) at the Orangery in Hyde Park - right near Kensington Palace. Really nice. I assume it is open this time of year. It's very pretty inside.
The other is dinner at Geale's in Notting Hill - it's on Farm (or Farmer?) St. just behind the movie theater that's in the main drag, Notting Hill Gate. It's a fish and chips sort of place, but not like a hole in a the wall chippie. It's a proper restaurant filed with locals form Notting Hill, one of my favorite neighborhoods. I go every time and have sent loads of friends there. One night we were there we had a conversation with Eric Clapton's drummer, who seemed happy to talk to Americans!
I will try and remember Monday to send the full London list. My fave museum is Natl Portrait Gallery.
